It means that, if I were the runner trying to capture Triple Crown of Long Distance, I would do exactly as I wrote. I would try to win all three, but I would start with the most valuable first.
___I think that an achievement comparable to Zatopek in the 00's would be winning any medals (three bronze medals for example) in the three events.

But the question was how best to go about winning all three, not which one you deem most important. I posit that placing greatest importance on the marathon yields the worst chances of accomplishing the stated goal.

I agree, if you wanted all three, you wouldn't put the emphasis on anything. And running the marathon last would definately give the greatest chance.

Also, not everyone would prefere to win the marathon anyways.
