I just finished my HS Cross Country Season with my State meet on Saturday. Thats the end of the road for my CC season. Any recommendations for how long of a break to take before picking the training back up would greatly help. I'm leaning towards about 8 days with no running. Any suggestions?

Hi Lars,

If you have run previously and found out what works for you in terms fo post-season recovery, it's generally best to stick with that. I would suggest 2 weeks off -- enough time to fully recharge (a taper takes about a week and a half to kick in) and not enough to lose any real conditioning. Of course, if you are very worn out at the end of a season, you should always take more time to recover so as to not start the next phase pre-pooped. Smile
